Report of the 3D Consortium's activities
Some want to try it in medical fields
At the explanatory meeting, Sharp explained the market trends, basis of 3D viewing and about Sharp's LC (2D/3D methods) etc. and emphasised the importance of making the most of 3D in medicine. They asked for the cooperation and advice of all medical staff working in the current areas of application and use of 3D and in unknown areas. Meta Corporation used a large screen to simultaneously display both a 2D and 3D X-ray of an insect to show the difference and push how good 3D view is.
They explained that the 3D Consortium was set up to promote the various items on the agenda relating to 3D as "technologies from Japan" and that it is very active.
