The aim of the Digital Contents World 2003 in Hiroshima held at Astel Plaza in Hiroshima City (sponsored by the Chugoku Economic Federation) was to exhibit leading contents and to get people of the region to experience them directly and to make new discoveries, while also providing an opportunity for new business for the exhibitors as they talked to each other. Sharp and Tokyo University's Ito Laboratory gave exhibitions and lectures on behalf of the 3D Consortium.

Sharp, which is a member of the executive committee exhibited its 3D notebook PC, 3D Zaurus, 3D mobile phone SH505i and explained about the activities of the 3D Consortium, while also actually confirming the highly realistic displays.
Tokyo University's Ito Laboratory (associate member) gave a lecture on the effects of 3D expression from the academic point of view, exhibiting a panel regarding the new potential for development of the 3D information media industry from the viewpoint of cognitive and cranial nerve sciences.
