"3D Consortium Members Jointly Exhibited at 'The 17th Industrial Virtual Reality Expo & Conference 2009' (IVR)

Venue of the specialized seminar which is very well attended
We continued participation this year by installing a 3D Consortium booth. Five member companies jointly exhibited at the booth at IVR which was held at the East Hall 1 of the Tokyo Big Sight. We continued providing support for the "3D Display Fair" during IVR as the 3D Consortium.
For the session during the specialized seminar titled "Trends of the latest 3D displays and stereoscopic images", Mr. Kuniaki Izumi, Secretary General of the 3D Consortium gave a lecture under the title "Trends in the latest 3D industry and standardization strategies", and Mr. Tsutomu Horikoshi of NTT DoCoMo, Inc. under the title "Possibilities of 3D technologies concerning mobile phones and trends of the latest technologies". According to the announcement by organizers, 134 persons visited the session.
During the session titled "The latest case examples of 3D digital signage and its future development" which was held after that, Mr. Kiyoto Kanda of Newsight Japan Ltd., which is one of the regular members of the 3D Consortium, gave a lecture under the title "Review on case examples and business models of 3D digital signage". According to the announcement by organizers, 106 persons visited the session.
Also, 75,266 persons visited IVR over three days including the visitors of the "design/manufacturing exhibition" and the "machine element technologies exhibition" which were simultaneously organized.

* Exhibit: "3D digitizing system (reference exhibit)" - A 3D digitizing system by using stereo cameras. Acquisition of 3D point group data with texture is possible.

>>MITANI CORPORATION
* Exhibit: "Alioscopy's 40-inch autostereoscopic (No-Glasses) 3D display" - An autostereoscopic 3D display by using lenticular lens. Bright and high-resolution 3D images can be viewed.

>>Newsight Japan Ltd.
* Exhibit (1): "21.5-inch 2D/3D switching type"
* Exhibit (2): "21.5-inch MLD" (Multi Layer Display) (by using two LCDs)
* Exhibit (3): "10.2-inch, embedded in mini-notebook computer, 2D/3D switching type"
* Exhibit (4): "7.0-inch 3D photo frame"
* Exhibit (5): "15.4-inch, embedded in mini-notebook computer, 2D/3D switching type"
