Study Session jointly hosted by the Broadcasting &
Live Action Shooting Working Group (WG) and the Technical
Sub-committee
(Venue: SGI Hall, Ebisu)
|
|
September 12, 2008
|
|
|
The Study Session was jointly organized by the Broadcasting
& Live Action Shooting WG and the Technical Sub-committee
at the SGI Hall in the Yebisu Garden Place Tower on
September 12, 2008.
The theme was "the latest information on 3D and
live-action 3D".
The expectations on live-action 3D as 3D contents
with hyper-realism has recently become higher. Actually,
however, it is very difficult to create high quality
contents by using images which are shot by two cameras.
Therefore, various attempts have been done by using
image processing. In this study session, the latest
trends of "live-action 3D" were introduced
including techniques of shooting live-action 3D, business
cases, image processing, media and the trends about
standardization as well as an exhibition with demonstrations.
There were reports by experts about the latest information
on 3D including the 3D information from Hollywood
which is experiencing kaleidoscopic evolutions and
the latest 3D information introduced during "SIGGRAPH2008"
which is the world-largest exhibition concerning computer
graphics and interactive technologies.
There were 38 members at the study session for a total
of 67 people attending.
