"Contest of 3D Photos Created by Families"
Venue: Hikari HOUSE Shinjuku, NTT East
August 24 and 25, 2013
* Hikari HOUSE Shinjuku, NTT East, venue of the event
As a tie-up event with "Shinjuku Creators Festa 2013" (August 23 - September 8), the 3D Consortium conducted the "Contest of 3D Photos Created by Families" on August 24 (Sat) and 25 (Sun) to get the general public including children to realize the amusing aspects of 3D in cooperation with Newsight Japan Ltd., NTT East (Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation) and Takarazuka University.
During the event, 2D digital photos brought by participants were converted into 3D photos by PCs provided at the venue. These photos were displayed in naked eye 3D photo frames (provided by Newsight Japan) and a "3D photo work" contest was conducted. 15 groups per day participated in the event and 30 groups in total made entries in the contest with their 3D photo works.
* Mr. Kiyoto Kanda explained about 3D
At the beginning of the event, Mr. Kiyoto Kanda of Newsight Japan explained about the mechanism and amusing aspects of 3D. After the explanation, participants were given opportunities to conduct conversions of 2D photos into 3D photos by using sample digital 2D photos. After that, participants were challenged to create their own 3D photo works by using digital photos they brought. At the end of the event, NTT East introduced their commitment through their show room "Hikari HOUSE Shinjuku".
Families participating in the event were given "Naked eye 3D photo frames" by Newsight Japan.
[Exhibition of entries]
Entries were exhibited from August 27 (Tue) to September 7 (Sat) with two naked eye 3D photo frames at a corner installed in the "Hikari HOUSE Shinjuku" show room.
